The staff was very professional and patient. The room was gorgeous and very comfortable. The whole hotel just felt really nice. I thought it would be noisy because it is across from the train station but it wasn't!! Big bonus!

My husband and I stayed for one night due to a late flight arrival and the location of the hotel across the street from the train station. We were immediately disappointed that we had to catch a train in the morning because the hotel was so lovely. Wonderful shower, great bed, memory foam pillows, in room coffee maker, professional and kind reception. Next time we are in Basel we will definitely stay here!

A very nice hotel in a very convenient location, directly opposite Basel SBB train station and the departure point for buses to the nearby Euro Basel - Mulhouse - Freiburg airport. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the rooms are clean and the bar/bistro serves good quality meals, albeit from a fairly limited menu.

Hotel Victoria is located on Basel's Centralbahnplatz right near the Swiss Railway Station (SBB), the city's main station. That means it boasts optimum public transport links, which our guests can use for free throughout their stay. Many places of interest in the city centre are within walking distance, however. 

The no. 2 tram links Hotel Victoria Basel to Badischer Bahnhof (German railway station) (11 minutes' ride) and the Exhibition Centre (Messe) (8 minutes' ride). From EuroAirport, you can take the no. 50 bus to the Swiss Railway Station (SBB) and to our hotel in Basel in just 15–20 minutes.

Hotel Victoria offers single, double and twin rooms and suites with a range of different amenities. The superior rooms and junior suites are the most suitable for families. These rooms offer enough space for an extra bed or already have a sofa that can be transformed into an additional bed, depending on the amenities. We also provide cots for infants aged up to 2 years free of charge. The room size determines how many cots we can offer in a room. You can view the room capacity when booking online or contact our reception in advance.

No, we only offer non-smoking rooms. All public areas of the hotel, such as the bar, bistro, lobby and meeting rooms are also non-smoking.

Breakfast is already included in some of our pricing options. If you choose an option without breakfast, you can book breakfast for your entire stay at Hotel Victoria at any time or you can pay for breakfast as required at the hotel.

All of the room prices quoted on our website include VAT. Please note that the city tax charged by the City of Basel, which is CHF 4 per person per night, is not included in the specified room prices.

Yes, you must provide a valid credit card (American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard or VISA) when making your booking in order to guarantee the booking. Your credit card will only be charged if you book a prepaid rate in your reservation. You will be notified of this fact when booking. In all other cases, you pay when you check in to Hotel Victoria in Basel. 

If you have booked a room at Hotel Victoria in Basel, you can check in from 2 p.m. and must check out by 12 p.m. at the latest on your day of departure. Our 24-hour reception is there for you at all times, in case you arrive or depart at night or arrive in Basel without having booked a room at Hotel Victoria in advance. 

If you arrive at our hotel in Basel before the official check-in time and want to go for your first walk around the city or if you have another appointment after the check-out time on the day of your departure, we would be happy to look after your luggage for you at reception during this time. 

If you arrive by car, you may use our private parking space in a car park for a fee of CHF 25 per night. There is a convenient lift that will take you straight from the car park to the hotel lobby. Please note that there is a height restriction of 2.20 m.

You can access a high-speed Internet connection in all public and private areas of the hotel with our free Wi-Fi.

Our abundant breakfast buffet is offered from 6.30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Mondays to Fridays and from 6.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and all public holidays. 

You can use our laundry, ironing and dry-cleaning services at Hotel Victoria from Mondays to Fridays. These services are not included in the room prices.

Pets are also welcome at Hotel Victoria, although the hotel rules only permit small animals. An additional cleaning fee of CHF 20 is charged for each pet. Please inform us when booking if you wish to bring a pet.

As a guest at Hotel Victoria, you will receive a BaselCard for the entire duration of your stay. The costs are covered by the city tax. The BaselCard enables you to use public transport for free and also gives you a discount of up to 50% on the admission prices of museums, the theatre, the zoo and a wealth of other tourist attractions and activities.
